Suggestion to the Norwegian Nobel Committee

A. Peace can only be achieved through a sustainable environmental development.
B. A sustainable environmental development can only be achieved through immediate reductions of global CO2-emissions.
C. Immediate reductions of global CO2-emissions can only be achieved through a binding global treaty based on the recommendations of the IPCC.
D. A binding global treaty enforcing immediate global CO2-emission reductions can only be achieved through the United Nations Climate Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009.

If D→C and C→B and B→A then D→A.

If not D then not C, if not C then not B, if not B then not A and if not D then not A.

Therefore Barack Obama can only receive the Nobel Peace Prize if he goes to the COP15 summit in Copenhagen in December.

He must have understood that he was about to do a huge political mistake: now he is going to Copenhagen!

But even if he didn’t go he still would have deserved the prize only for creating hope and for his work for nuclear non-proliferation.

I agree, but don’t you have to add a point E of this sort to come to your logical conclusion?:
“The conference in Copenhagen will be successful only if the Us delegation is represented by his president Obama, otherwise the other countries will think that for the USA this is not a top priority”"

  2. Ingeborg Kjos Says:

    You’re right.
